BILLY MCCOMISKEY NAMED TRADITIONAL ARTIST OF 2011

Irish Echo, the largest circulating Irish American weekly newspaper, re-cently named Baltimore resident Billy McComiskey as their Traditional Artist of the Year for 2011. Since 1993, the newspaper has been honor-ing important people in the field of Irish traditional music, and Billy McComiskey deservedly now takes his place on the list of distinguished recipients of this award.

The Emerald Isle Club was fortunate enough to have Billy McComiskey, as well as many other wonderful musicians, play at the December céilí. Anyone who was there will agree that it was an evening of wonderful music, including Christmas carols that accompanied a visit from Santa. Congratulations, Billy, on your well deserved award!
